Take your workout back from the aliens...

A friend who shall remain nameless made this comment about working out in the gym: "I just wished I enjoyed working out at the gym more, but it is such a sterile environment... I always think that, if aliens came down and saw us walking on a stairclimber or something, they would think that we were someone's pets being put through their paces. (Just like a hamster)"

I implore you, don't base your workouts (or lack thereof as evidenced above) by the supposition that there could POSSIBLY be aliens out there and if they did POTENTIALLY come here that it would hurt your image with them -- because, truth be known, it wouldn't matter either way. If they were malicious aliens, they would take you out or enslave you if you were on a stairclimber or if you weren't.

You don't have to workout at the gym. Yes, some people don't like it. Gyms can be superficial and intimidating. But, if you hire me, we will not work out in the gym every time. There are many other exercises that can be performed without the aid of gym equipment. There are other venues that can be utilized - regarding the comment above, you can do stadium stairs instead of stair climbers. But weight training can help in many ways - including helping to keep your bones dense - which is especially important for women as they age.
